The Pain Relief IV at Vita Nova in Canton, Baltimore is a 45–60 minute infusion of IV fluids, ketorolac (Toradol — a prescription anti-inflammatory), magnesium and B-complex vitamins. It costs $199.99, no membership required. It's for the occasional bad day — a tension headache, a migraine, post-workout or overuse muscle pain — not a chronic pain treatment plan. Is this for you?

The Days People Book It — and the Days They Shouldn't

🤕 A headache that won't quit

Tension headache on day two, or the kind that laughs at ibuprofen. Fluids plus prescription-strength anti-inflammatory, in a dim quiet room.

⚡ A migraine day

Magnesium and IV fluids are mainstays of migraine care, and Toradol is commonly used for attacks. Book early in the attack if you can.

🏋️ Muscle overuse or a flare

The weekend you moved apartments, the back that seized after deadlifts, a flare of an old strain. Anti-inflammatory plus the muscle-relaxation mineral.

🦷 Post-procedure soreness

Cleared by your dentist or doctor but sore and behind on fluids. Check with them first; the nurse will ask.

When this isn't the right place. The worst headache of your life, a headache with fever, stiff neck, confusion or weakness, chest pain, or pain after a serious injury is an emergency — call 911 or go to the ER. New severe abdominal pain needs a doctor, and an NSAID can mask it. We'll tell you the same thing on the phone.

02
What's in the bag

Four Components — and What Each Is For

Ketorolac (Toradol)
The prescription-strength anti-inflammatory

Same family as ibuprofen and naproxen, but significantly stronger and only available by prescription. Delivered IV, it starts working in minutes instead of the hour a pill takes — and it isn't an opioid, doesn't sedate you, and you drive yourself home.

IV fluids
Because dehydration amplifies pain

Headaches, migraines and muscle cramps all get worse when you're behind on fluids — and people in pain usually are, because drinking is the last thing on their mind. A liter goes in alongside the medicine.

Magnesium
The muscle-relaxation mineral

Long used in migraine and tension-headache care, and the mineral tight muscles need to release. IV magnesium avoids the stomach upset the pills cause at useful doses.

B-complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6)
Recovery support

B2 (riboflavin) is the B vitamin studied in headache-prone people; the rest support energy while your body settles. This is the supporting cast, not the star.

The screening

Two Minutes With the Nurse First — Here's What We Ask

Toradol is a real medicine, and NSAIDs at prescription strength aren't for everyone. Before the drip starts, the nurse checks a short list — it protects you, and it's why this drip costs what a supervised clinic charges rather than what a juice bar would:

  • ✓Kidney disease or reduced kidney function
  • ✓History of stomach ulcers or GI bleeding
  • ✓Blood thinners (warfarin, Eliquis, Xarelto) or daily aspirin
  • ✓Allergy or reaction to aspirin, ibuprofen or any NSAID
  • ✓Heart disease, heart failure or uncontrolled blood pressure
  • ✓Pregnancy — NSAIDs aren't used, especially later in pregnancy

And a limit we hold: ketorolac is an occasional-use medicine. The nurse will tell you how soon it can appropriately be repeated, and if you find yourself wanting this drip regularly, that's not a rhythm we'll sell you — it's a sign the pain needs a proper workup. We'd rather lose the booking than miss the point.

Ongoing pain

If Pain Is a Regular Part of Your Life — There's a Better Door Here

Vita Nova isn't only a wellness clinic. Dr. Joshi is a Johns Hopkins-trained anesthesiologist, and the clinic runs a physician-led pain program for chronic and nerve-related pain — a medically supervised course of treatment with a real evaluation, not a drip off a menu. If your pain is ongoing, recurring, or nerve-like (burning, shooting, electric), call (443) 563-1059 and ask about the pain program. The Pain Relief IV is for the occasional bad day; the program is for the pain that keeps having days.

For the occasional-bad-day person, membership still works

The Vitality Circle ($99.99/month) includes one perk a month, such as one standard IV drip — most members use Myers' or Hydration as their regular and save the Pain Relief IV for when a bad day lands, since any standard drip qualifies. Members can take two shots, two pushes, or one of each instead of the drip, and get 25% off everything else.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pain Relief IV — Your Questions, Answered

The Pain Relief IV at Vita Nova in Canton, Baltimore costs $199.99 for a 45–60 minute infusion of IV fluids, ketorolac (Toradol), magnesium and B-complex vitamins, given by a licensed nurse after a short screening. No membership is required. Vitality Circle members ($99.99/month) can choose one standard drip as their included monthly perk, and the Pain Relief IV qualifies. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
Vita Nova's Pain Relief IV contains ketorolac (Toradol), a prescription anti-inflammatory in the same family as ibuprofen but significantly stronger; a liter of IV fluids, because dehydration amplifies headaches and muscle pain; magnesium, the muscle-relaxation mineral long used in migraine care; and B-complex vitamins for recovery support. It contains no opioids and nothing sedating, so you can drive yourself home from 513 Bayview Blvd, Canton.
IV fluids, magnesium and ketorolac are all commonly used for migraine attacks — the same categories of treatment many ERs reach for, delivered in a quiet, dim private room instead of a waiting area. Booking early in the attack helps. The Pain Relief IV at Vita Nova is for the occasional migraine day; if you're getting frequent migraines, you need a physician's prevention plan, and we'll say so rather than book you monthly. Our magnesium-based migraine IV guide covers timing and what to expect in more detail.
IV ketorolac typically begins working within 15–30 minutes, faster than the hour or more an oral pill takes, and its effect commonly lasts several hours. Most people at Vita Nova feel meaningful relief before the 45–60 minute drip finishes, with the fluids and magnesium continuing to help afterward. Everyone responds differently, and the nurse will talk through what to expect at your screening. Same-day appointments are often available: (443) 563-1059.
Ketorolac (Toradol) is widely used and well-tolerated for most healthy adults as an occasional dose, which is why every Pain Relief IV at Vita Nova starts with a nurse screening. People with kidney disease, a history of stomach ulcers or GI bleeding, NSAID or aspirin allergy, significant heart disease, or who take blood thinners, and anyone pregnant, should not receive it or need physician review first. It's also strictly occasional-use — the nurse will tell you how soon it can be repeated.
No — and a clinic that says yes isn't doing you a favor. Ketorolac is an occasional-use medicine, and chronic pain deserves a diagnosis and a plan, not a repeating drip. Vita Nova runs a separate physician-led pain program under Dr. Brijen Joshi, a Johns Hopkins-trained anesthesiologist, for ongoing and nerve-related pain. If that's your situation, call (443) 563-1059 and ask about the pain program instead; the Pain Relief IV is for the occasional bad day.
